Today is my 4 year anniversary-and my sons birthday!

My 4 year anniversary of my cancer surgery and of my sons birth. This time 4 years ago, my son was already here (he came about 8:30 am via c section) and about this time a team of doctors and nurses were removing all of my inside bits. It's a strange little holiday for me.

If it's an update you want.....

Spring has finally sprung (sorry Alana) and I don't want to work indoors anymore. And, I haven't really. Sunny, in the 70's- this weather is not clean- your- bedroom weather. At least, not to me after the winter we had here.
We worked outside this weekend and then I shopped this week. Today I need to get my behind in gear and do some general cleaning and laundry- but not until I check the weather forecast. If tomorrow looks like it could rain- than we are going to the beach today and will clean tomorrow.

Here is what we did this weekend until now. (I say we, because my Mr. was quite a lot of help this time around)

You saw the outbox on my Flickr site, but here it is again. We moved all the garage sale boxes over into their own section of the basement. (yes, that's lovely 70's paneling down there- that is another story for another day) and I cleaned out the storage room (or the pump room as I also call it) I went through all of my stored boxes looking for junk to get rid of. I emptied out 4 tubs of storage items into the garage sale pile. There is still alot of stuff I am either unwilling or unable to get rid of , but every year that pile gets smaller.

I have a lot of stuff to store. Boxes of memorabilia from my childhood, about 8 Rubbermaid tubs of Christmas stuff, 3 tubs of Barbie Dolls ( I used to collect them- at one time I had 10 tubs of them- all still in their boxes and perfect. I sold most of them on Ebay) and many, many tubs of books my Mr. has collected. But, back to the sale pile. There is about 30+ boxes of crap in that pile, and that's not counting the furniture, the toys and other stuff- strollers (2), picnic table, big toys, ride on's etc.... . Out in the garage are another 15 or 20 boxes of garage sale stuff out there. Then there is the clothing rolling rack. I have a large commercial rolling rack FULL and overflowing of clothes that I have decided to get rid of. After 2 Wardrobe Therapies, I have decided to let other people have these items. They are great and in fabulous condition and it's a shame they are in my basement not being used. With the economy the way it is- these will be a great deal for someone.
My Mr. cleaned out our garage this weekend. I put out all of the garden stuff. Planters, art, hanging stuff....

The white thing on the ground is a baby gate. I use it to keep the dog on the porch. As you can see, it's finally getting green.

I raked. And raked. Then I raked some more. Truckloads of leaves and pine needles. The Village came and took them all away (Yea!)

I planted stuff. I planted 3 small pines last week, and this weekend I planted 2 small shrubs, 3 mounds of decorative grasses (the kind that get 7-8 ft tall) and bulbs. Lots of bulbs.

I put out all of our summer clothes, purses, etc.. and stored away all the winter crap.

I turned off our furnace and capped off the exhaust pipes. No more heat until next winter.

I went shopping for-
  • new planter boxes (since the old ones fell off the porch)
  • birthday presents for the boy- who will be 4 ( I can't believe it) on Sunday

I bought 2 new large rugs at Lowes on clearance for 10.99 each (down from 148.00 each) one will be used in the basement tv area, the other is at my Mothers house. She wanted to see if it would work in her dining room.

I put together our stuff for the first antique show (this Sunday) that my Mr. is helping my parents with. (since my Dad had his heart thing, we thought it would be a good idea to send a 3rd pair of hands to help with the canopy and set up- and it wasn't going to be me.)

I worked on the 6 dolls I am currently in the process of finishing. These are taking a long time and I don't know why. Maybe because I was watching "Torchwood" and "Dr . Who" more than I was sewing and beading?

I spent some time thinking about what my "style" was, what things (art, fabrics, music, smells, books etc) I liked and if they had anything to do with my style. I think that they do, but that's for another post.

I had the MIL over for dinner ( it was the second anniv. of her husbands- my Mr.'s Dad's- death) I made a ham, biscuits and asparagus and roasted carrots. Things went well, and I think she is doing great now. She has a new life and seems quite happy.

My last thought for this post-

I can't believe that gas is 3.69 a gallon here. I am thankful I no longer have a gas guzzler and/or work 140 miles away from my home (round trip)

piles of purses from a self described purse snob

Winter is over. I am officially declare it to be so. I have washed the winter coats, hats, gloves and scarves and put them away. So to, the brown, black and burgundy purses that make up my winter palette must be banished. It's time for blue and pink, for white and yellow. It's time for spring.

the winter purses to be stored away.

I haven't done much with AT cure this week. My bathrooms are fine. I re did them both last year. Actually this summer the main bath will be gutted. New cabinet, lights and flooring (which we already have) maybe even a new toilet. So, to do anything now would be a waste of time, and who can waste time indoors when the weather is so fabulous outside?

It's in the high 60's, sunny and wonderful outside. The bulbs are coming up and the birds are out in force. I even saw a butterfly! My boy and I have been outside for 6 to 8 hours a day the last few days- raking, walking, wandering by the river. We have been talking to the neighbors that we have only been waving at during blizzards! This is my favorite time of year and what I missed the most living in Texas and Arizona. There we just went from warm to hotter than hell, or from wet to hotter than hell. Not so much spring in those necks of the woods, at least, not like here.
How I store my off season purses - 5 canvas boxes.

These are my summer purses- soft sided, some are like tote bags, all are for garage sales, running to the grocery, and the the like. The one on the bottom left with the red designs is the one I like the most- from Gap a few years back. I used it for a diaper bag for a while and now it's an all purpose bag. I love it.
These are my more "dressy" summer purses. There are to many to list individually. I really like the blue one on the bottom right along with the hot pink one under it. There there are the fabulous orange and green patent leather ones in the back. As you can see, my summer colors are much lighter, whites, oranges, pinks, blues. The black and white wicker box purse in the middle is a vintage piece that cost me a quarter and it's great. I carry that a lot. Oops- I forgot 2 I love- the large leather tote is a great shopping bag, and the smaller yellow purse is so versatile.

These are the bags I am going to get rid of . There are 5, although I only see 4 in this picture. They are all nice bags, but I haven't used them for a year so go they must. There is a small box purse from Saks not shown, then the Lamarthe grey bag, a black purse with leather woven handles from Banana Republic, a brown satin Kate Spade backpack (hello- it's the 90's they want their bag back) and an orange XOXO suede hobo style that is kinda dirty.

This is how they are stored. The bags out of season are in the canvas bags at the bottom of my closet, the ones in season are stored on the top shelf. There are 2 larger ones on a hook on the inside of my closet door also. I like to keep them out so it's easier to change out from look to look.

That's it. I know I have a lot of bags, but I only have as many as I can store. Really. I change my purse out a lot- 2 or 3 times a week depending on what I am doing. I love colored bags in the summer. I don't wear much color in my clothes, and this I think gives me the lift that I need in my summer outfits. Do my purse choices say anything about me? I don't know. I guess they must.

I am kind of a purse snob, I have to admit. Purses don't have to be designer or expensive, but they must be nice. They must be clean. They must be appropriate to the occasion and or outfit the person is wearing. It is just so sad to see a woman who is dressed rather well carrying a decrepit ,dirty, cheap purse that had it's last good day years ago. You know how they say good shoes makes your entire outfit look better? The same is true with bags. But again- good bags don't have to be expensive or designer or even leather, I can't emphasise that enough. There is a difference between inexpensive and cheap- know the difference !

I was tagged- 7 things you don't know about me

  1. I went to a Lutheran church school growing up.

  2. I was briefly a hair-model when I lived in Phoenix. My profile picture on Flickr is one of my headshots

  3. The 2 favorite cars that I have owned have been my 72 VW beetle- it was orange- and my 2001 Jeep Wrangler (soft-top). It was also orange.

  4. I am lactose intolerant -and my favorite foods in no particular order are nachos, enchiladas, lasagna, pizza and cheese

  5. I believe in ghosts (we lived in a haunted house growing up)and aliens ( I have seen a ufo and no I wasn't drunk) . I also believe in God. I don't think they are incompatible beliefs

  6. I am bossy and headstrong. It makes me a great manager but not so great a person

  7. I am afraid to fly. Really, horribly afraid to fly. I am afraid of airports almost. I used to fly all the time, all over the country. But after a few issues (turbulance, being left at the gate in strange cities etc. and, oh yes, 9-11) things went downhill, and now I simply can't. I know I will have a heart attack, or start to act funny and then get tasered by airport security (or worse).

What happens when you leave an almost 4 year old alone for 15 minutes.

My husband is a good man. This morning I had a migrane and so he called in to work and told them he would be an hour or so late so that I could get some more sleep. ( I had been awake until after 3am). He stayed with the boy for about an hour or so- watching cartoons and eating breakfast- then he took a shower. He left the boy alone for 10 to 15 minutes. I woke up to screaming.

I wish I had pictures, but that was not my first thought. My son had pulled a large plastic cup (the kind from ,like, 7-11) and filled it up many, many times with water, and then dumped them all on the kitchen floor. There were gallons of standing water on the kitchen and dining room floor areas. The water had gone down the front of the sink and into the sink cabinet, flooding out the bottom of that. The water went under the fridge and stove. We used 10 large bathsheets and then had to move on to hand towels to mop it all up. I have never seen that much damage in 10 minutes before in my life. My son was hiding behind a chair in the living room. Of course, we found him and he sat in the "naughty chair" for a very long time.

We didn't loose anything other than a roll of paper towels and a small box of those swiffer duster things. I think everything will end up just fine. My floors are very, very clean- even under the fridge and stove now. And I think that my husband has seen the terror that I live with each and everyday. 3, almost 4, year old boys are never, ever to be trusted. Especially around water.

wardrobe therapy- shoes, shoes, and more shoes

For someone with horrible foot problems, I seem to have a lot of inappropriate shoe choices. I need to learn to embrace the comfortable shoe I think. Or, find a cute shoe that doesn't hobble me like an old race horse.

I wrote about my tennis shoes (or trainers for Zooza) in a previous post. These are my sandals and heels for spring/summer. I don't know why I won't part with some of them. I can't possible wear them- yet I won't give them up.

  • If these look rather unworn as a whole, it's because they are. Top left is a pair of 3 1/2 inch slides by Via Spiga. A burgundy Ostrich. They aren't as uncomfortable as one might think, but they aren't Dr Scholls either. Keeping them.
  • Middle top is a pair of Patent leather Nine west slides with a 4 inch heel. These look like stripper shoes. They have never been worn. Why can't I part with them?
  • Top right is a pair of black wedge shoes from Target. They were bought for a wedding and kill my feet-especially the toes. They have to go.
  • Bottom right is a pair of 4 inch Calvin Klein heels- denim. This is a mystery to me. Again, these are stripper shoes (or worse)They are leaving the building.
  • Middle bottom is a pair of Walter Steigers that I love. They are a open toe sling back, natural leather with a 3 1/2 inch heel. For a short duration these are wearable and they are very cute, and they cost a small fortune. They are staying
  • The bottom left is a pair of Donald Pliner slides with an alligator type pattern with a 3 inch heel. These are also staying.

These are the middle range heels- 2 inches or so. All but one pair is Nine West. All are staying.

  • Top left and Bottom left are the same shoe. They are a 2 inch slide- very comfortable. The top is blue fur, the bottom black leather. You can tell by the icky toe prints I wear these a lot.
  • Top middle is another pair of comfy heels. These have a tiny strap at the ball of the foot and another higher up.
  • Top right is also by nine west. A 2 inch slide, with a chunky heel and chunky leather strap. These look good with pants.
  • Bottom right. These are Enzo Angiolini's. They have never been worn- although I hope to this summer to a wedding I have to attend. The picture doesn't do these justice. They are lovely and not all that uncomfortable.

My flats. These are just as uncomfortable for me as high heels.

  • Top left is a pair of nine west alligator slides. The alligator is blue. They tend to "slap" when I wear them- which is never a good thing. When I hear that noise I want to scream "pick up your feet!" then I realize that it's me.
  • Top middle is a pair of Keds Lily Pulitzer tennis shoes. These aren't all that bad. They have some sort of arch support and I like the orange color and pattern (gasp!)
  • top right is a pair of nine west. They are slip ons, they have a rubber sole like a tennis shoes and a canvas top. I have worn them once. I don't know why I bought them really.
  • Bottom right are my favorite shoes. Anne Klein. They are about 8 years old and doing just fine.
  • Bottom left are my wedding shoes. Liz Claiborne jeweled flip flops. Apple green. They have got to stay- if just for sentimental reasons.
  • I have 2 pair of Teva flip flops that are in the garage right now and not in this picture.

So, what do these shoes say about me? Well, they are almost all from my "past life" so not much. I am wearing mostly tennis shoes and flip flops now. I don't go many places where heels would be useful, acceptable or even warranted. I don't care what those fools at "what not to wear" would say -in large areas of America (like where I live), women do not dress up to go grocery shopping or to the park. Those pointy toed heels they love so much look great on some people, but unless you live in a larger city, they will just look out of place. Those of us who have to deal with weather (ie snow) laugh at those shoes. We need to find appropriate, comfortable ,fashionable shoes for our day- to -day life in middle America. Fly over country if you wish. We need people to understand how we live, what we do, and what we need. Not a set of rules for dressing that have nothing to do with our way of life.

Off soap box.

It's been a busy 4 days

I am so ready for spring, but it's just not here yet. We had a mini flood here this week- it rained and rained- then of course, they said it would snow. It didn't reach all the way to where I lived, but some places got up to 7 additional inches. The Mackinaw bridge had ice (and accidents) but here it was just rain. Oh, and tornadoes. Don't forget the tornadoes.

The cure difficult for me right now. My knee is killing me, and I don't have a ton of energy to do anything right now. I actually took Friday off and went shopping.

Here is my "done" list for the cure as of right now, Sunday night.
  • finished painting the laundry room. I have cleaned it and organized it.
  • finished the secretary/dresser for the boys room, installed it, and hung the last of his art work, masks and horns. The tent is on hold right now, I don't know how safe I can make one for a rowdy almost 4 yr old. They toy curtain is done and hung too.
  • washed our winter coats (they are drying as I write this) that can be washed. The others are put in storage already, and these will join them when they are dry.
  • cleaned the front coat closet and hung our spring coats
  • brought up my spring/summer shoes and took down the winter shoes
  • I sold another doll, so I packed it up and shipped it
  • filled 4 new garage sale boxes and about 30 pieces of hanging clothes were moved to the garage sale rack
  • talked to the neighbors re:said garage sale ( I want them to join in this year) and I got us on the city wide garage sale map this year.
  • put in one hour of studio cleaning time. I think about 3 more will do it :(
  • found a frame for the sheik painting and hung that in my sons room
  • my husband is finishing the taxes tonight
  • went shopping at bought my art supplies on sale and 2 dress shirts, 1 pr dress slacks and sweatpants for my Mr.
  • grocery shopped for the week and made the menu- this week we are having- fish n chips, grilled pork tenderloin, homemade pizza, chicken fried chicken, hamburgers on the grill, and a ham. Yes, I said a ham. It was on sale and there was a small one.

Midweek update-progress report for week 5 Apartment Therapy Cure

The weather outside is cruddy- cold and wet - so this is going to be a great week for working inside.

We got a few things done on Saturday that I don't think I wrote about- my husband took down all of the planter boxes (5) off of our porch and disposed of them. One fell off last week, and another was well on it's way. I have to figure out what to do next, and soon. Planting season is coming up faster than I would like to admit. We also decided where to move a tree that is currently way to close to our house and gas pipes. I moved up all of the back deck furniture from the lower deck to the upper deck. That's 2 large 6 or 7 ft tables, 4 benches and 2 chairs if you are so inclined to be counting. It's a good thing it's pouring rain outside because it's cleaning them off so I don't have to.

What I have done this week so far-

  • I have painted the secretary brown as a base color. I am testing a red middle color right now. I hope to have this done by the weekend. With it raining, I have to let it dry about 2 days per coat right now.

  • I put up some pieces of art in my sons room. I have many, many more to go, but I hope to have that completed by Sunday. I just couldn't stare at empty walls any longer.

  • I did general cleaning Monday and Tuesday. I stripped all the beds, did 5 loads of laundry so far, dishes, floors, cleaned the kitchen etc..... I also went grocery shopping and planned the menu for the week - Tuesday we had Sirloin steak on the grill with steak fries, today we are having Chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and cream gravy, Thursday is taco night, Friday will be pancakes with eggs, bacon and fruit, and Saturday is homemade pizza night. Yes, there are veggies every night, I just generally don't pick them until the night they are going to be eaten.

  • I did some research on coffee grounds in the garden. Apparently, they are very good for the soil (nitrogen and worms) and in compost piles. I decided to try it this spring.
  • I filled up 2 boxes of garage sale stuff to sell!
  • I planted 3 pine shrubs in the backyard. I am trying to put more vegetation on a problematic hillside we have.

What I have to do this week

  1. Spend about 2 hours in my studio and finish cleaning it
  2. get my husbands summer clothes out and put away the heavy winter stuff
  3. put our parkas and winter gear in storage
  4. bring up my summer shoes
  5. finish the pictures and frames for my sons room

  6. finish the secretary dresser and install it my sons room
  7. hem his curtains
  8. find an 18x24 frame for a painting
  9. move my sons old shelving system to the mud room for installation there
  10. have my husband finish his 2 projects-the bar table and the laundry room wall so I can prime and paint them. I guess that is also number 11.

That is an awfully large list. It may bleed over into next week if I don't get my butt in gear.

It's all about the shoes

Piles and Piles.
Ok, just one pile for right now. We still have some snow on the ground. Not much, but some, so my spring/summer shoes are in storage right now. This week I will bring them up and check them out, but for now, it's just tennis shoes.

These I wear year round, so they were available today to discuss. There are 6 pair here. I will start at the bottom left.

Black DKNY tennis shoes. These are a little old, but leather, don't hurt my feet, and in good condition. I don't know why I need black tennis shoes. But I am going to keep them.

Lime green Merril. Leather and mesh. I am wearing them now, and they seem a bit large. I will have to wear them a bit more to see if they make the cut.

Baby blue Kangaroos. Nope. Not gonna make it. Gotta go.

Brown Puma. Hmmmm.... seemed like a good idea at the time. But they are comfy enough for yard work. So they stay.

Top left is a weird blue/green leather pair of Merrill's. They have that bungee cord thing instead of laces or velcro. They are uber-comfy. The problem? NO VENTILATION. I mean none. The smell of feet when I remove these shoes would kill a gorilla. I have to put them in another room- but comfy they are, so they stay.

Last pair- grey mesh Merrill's. I love these shoes. Comfy, mesh, so they breath all over. Velcro so easy on/easy off. Keepers- and I hope they make them again this year so I can get another pair.

To be honest, I have a problem with my feet. They hurt all the time. I have been to doctors and no real, conclusive, reason has been found yet. Just a lot of -I think, or maybe's. I say yet though , because there is a possibility. Due to my cancer and resulting surgery, they removed my lymph glands. Without these, the lymph fluid tends to collect at the lowest point in your body- the legs and feet.

Right after my surgery 4 years ago I was warned about fluid and fluid collection. Lymphedema is a really serious , kind of gross, condition. Did you see the show about the woman with the 99 lb. leg? That is caused by lymphedema. I didn't provide a link because, honestly, the pictures are icky. You can google if you wish. I had a bout of it after my surgery- my left leg ballooned up about 25%, but then it went back down. Right now, my legs are a bit puffy but that's it. But I have had left knee problems and foot issues for about 4 years now. ( I almost had knee surgery last winter but decided not to at the last minute) so I may have an answer.

I loved shoes. Loved them. But heels make my feet hurt and swell after about 10 minutes. Flat shoes are torture- no arch support so I can't wear them. Plus, I need my shoes to be able to get off my feet rather quickly- so my shoe options are rather limited now and it kills me. I can't be a slave to fashion any more, but I will NOT wear ugly orthopedic nightmares. I just can't. So it's off for more shoe shopping.

4/5/08

It's time for another list......

It's Saturday so we just got our wardrobe therapy marching orders from Wende for the week. I am not going to pile today- just to busy, but I came to a horrible realization yesterday at Target and I thought I would start with that today.

I am old.

I was wandering Target with my son and we stopped at the Converse One Star shoe endcap. I have to confess that I love converse, but I don't much wear them anymore. Actually, I sold my last 3 pair on ebay a year ago. (They were the much loved by collectors old- made in the usa- kind and 2 pair had never been worn before. CHA CHING!) Anyway, they have silver glitter converse skimmers for women. The above picture is the darker glitter kind for kids- the woman's shoe is a brighter white silver glitter. (29.99 at target, but I can't find them on the website) I came to the conclusion that I am now to old to wear silver glitter tennis shoes. Breaks my heart like it did when I realized I can no longer wear a zebra patterned trench coat last year. I think at a certain point one has to leave that kind of fashion to others. I have reached that point.
I also have come to the conclusion that I don't know what my clothes really say about me. Sorry Wende, I really don't. I did manage to purchase 2 shirts yesterday, one a dark purple t shirt, the other a black and white linen shirt that has a bamboo pattern on it. It is a shirt jacket type thing and it looks great with a t shirt and casual pant or skirt. I'll do a pic when I do my piles.

Here is my list of stuff I did for Apartment Therapy Spring Cure from Wednesday to Today.

  • brought the secretary up from the basement to work on for the boys room
  • cleaned the living room, cleaned the old curtains, washed the slipcovers, brought the big blue rug up, cleaned the floors
  • finished washing the windows (inside only)
  • cleaned all the floors in the house
  • put together the stuff we are going to put out to sell at the first antique market at the end of April with my parents.
  • Fri. I went to a garage sale (first of the season) and then went to town to do some actual shopping. ( I did buy a vintage bentwood Thonet chair for 5 bucks though....)
  • fixed the bull horns in my sons room so they look more like water buffalo
  • measured for curtain hemming and for the shopping trip to Ikea
  • Hurt my knee pretty badly (surgery? maybe)
  • worked on the faux wood grain treatment I may be doing to the new secretary
  • bought my sons birthday present from my parents (they asked me to pick it up when I went to town- it's Fisher Price digital camera for kids- he will LOVE IT)

that's it. I am going to try to finish the laundry room today if my knee holds out, and my Mr. will be working in the yard ,one of our planter boxes fell off the porch yesterday so we have a lot of work to do out there too.....Tomorrow we won't get anything done except shopping. I am taking my Mr. to Ikea tomorrow. He has never been before. Never been to Ikea. I can't get over this fact. This should prove to be interesting. He is not a very good shopper, so I have warned him how big this place is, and how long it will take..... and how much money we may spend. I hope he's up to it.

Is Today only Wednesday?

This is going to be a long post. Just telling you that upfront. Pull up a chair and a big cup of coffee.
Last week Tuesday my back yard looked like this-
Monday it started to rain, Tuesday the river broke it's bank and started to flood my backyard. Now, thank the Lord, it's receding. Here is what it looks like now-

Wardrobe Therapy-

Piles of piles. I do have a lot less spring/summer clothes than winter stuff. I would like to say it's because spring/summer is shorter so I have less of a need. I would like to say that. I don't think it's true though. So here is my stuff. It's all good with exception of one or two pieces.

Skirts, pants, and jeans- There are 7 skirts total they are all staples except one- top right is a black and white skirt- I love this skirt. Top middle is a denim skort- again, it's great. Middle bottom are 2 black knit jersey stretch skirts. Both pencil type, they come right below my knee which for me is perfect. Top left is a black skirt, pencil type but a little short, to my knee- and I have really ugly knee caps (volleyball injuries) so this had to go I think. Bottom left are 2 skirts, a line, below my knee, they are identical one is solid brown, the other a brown print. I wear them later in the season when it gets to near fall.
4 Pair of Khaki pants. The two on the right side are both from Eddie Bauer. Flat front, straight leg, good length. Nice pants. The top left is a pair of dockers- they are ok. I would like them to be more of a straight leg or bootcut, but they are ok. The bottom left is a strange pair of khaki bootcut cargo pants from Tommy Hilfiger. They have this weird lace detail that I despise. I think they may be to tight too. They go into a pile to think about and probably will be sent away to be replaced with something less "girly" I mean, come on- lace cargo pants? There is a mystery shopping purchase.
I actually have 5 pair of jeans I like, but one is dirty right now. As you can see they are all dark, 2 are levis, one is a j jill, the other is gap. The missing pair are lees. They are all bootcut except the j jill and the gap pair- those are straight leg. The bottom right is the gap pair and I am less thrilled with them. I may move those to the not everyday wearing and to the odd jobs/dirty jobs pile.
Here are my jackets.

linen lands end spring green.

blue linen shirt/jacket

Jones NY dress jacket

Brown suit w/ pants above, and very very loud silk shirt that is about 10 years old. I wear it like a jacket over a white t shirt and either black pants or jeans. This is my favorite shirt/jacket of all time. It's an Eddie Bauer washable suede shirt. Black or course, with western styling and snaps. I bet I wear this 4 times a week. When it dies I will cry real tears.
This is the weird thing- when I took my jeans out of my closet, stuck to the back was this little doll. I made it- it's a little one I make for re sale. I just know I didn't put it in here. My son can't reach this high and my husband didn't do it either. How did it get in here? With it's hair stuck in bracket hole? How long has it been in here? Creepy..........
Apartment Therapy Spring Cure Week 4

  • I have finished spackeling, priming and painting the boys walls.
  • purchased a new curtain rod for his room, hung the new curtains to check for length ( I still have to sew them, they are just pinned up there for now.
  • put new pictures in frames for him and for the rest of the house.
  • planned the large wall in his room for his new African masks, paintings and artwork which I am in the process of framing (from a 1935 children's story book)
  • cleaned out the old medicines from all over the house (there were more than I thought) and moved all medicine to a lock box on a high shelf of the linen closet for safety from a grabby 3 yr old
  • transferred all my junk to a new purse
  • brought up a new/old rug for the boys room and decided to go back to the large blue rug for the living room
  • ordered a new cooking book for my Mom for my Dads new dietary requirements and some special books for my Mr. I love Amazon

I got a lot less done on Monday and Tuesday than normal because the MR. was sick at home with a cold and no voice (he's better and back at work today) so I had 2 babies to take care of.....

I have a huge list of things to do this week, but very little energy. Today is just general cleaning day- floors, laundry, bathrooms and kitchen. Maybe tonight I will bring up the rugs and secretary..... or maybe I will veg and watch tv.
