Bitten off more than I can chew....

So I said I would post more. I haven't. I said I would do more around the house. Haven't done that either. I said I wasn't going to work at the school this year. Nope. Matter of fact, I'm working more than I ever have. 5 days a week. Every week. So let's get to it

1 Posting more. I will try. I have been busy (haven't we all though) with both school, home and projects. Plus, we have a new cat and I am getting her used to us.  I know, excuses, excuses.

2. Clean more. The house is actually pretty clean but it's heading in a downhill manner and I have to get back on track.  I have 3 rooms and a door to paint. I have an entire basement to organize. It's really never ending.
We did cut down a HUGE forsythia bush though- around 10 ft high and easily that around - and we started clearing out the garage.

3. work. I need to get my Etsy shop back up and running. I've been doing some antique shows this summer and I only have two more of those left this season - good thing too because we have sold so much that I have little stock left. I had to go out and do some picking last week.
My sons teacher called me and asked me to work in his classroom this year. Every day. Seems I have a "skill set" (HIS words) that is needed. I work every morning doing organizational things- filing, checking in homework, lunch orders and checking the timed math and spelling tests that they do every morning. That math thing is a hairy pain in my butt- but I'm glad to do these things because I do them, he can teach. Which is his job. I can organize and file. That is my job. We'll see how this thing progresses. I've done this with 3 teachers before him- plus I did this in college AND when I was in high school ( I was what was called a student assistant. I helped out two teachers by grading tests etc.... during my "homeroom" hour) and I was a trainer in my former life working for money. I like it. I just don't know if I will like it every freaking day.

So there is my update. Boy, cat, home, school. It's taking up all my life right now. You understand.

Here are some pictures....

The forsythia was always ugly, so I don't have a before picture. This is after we cut the stupid thing down with a chainsaw and then ran the old mower over the area to get all the suckers and saplings....

The rock garden was next to the tree. The rock garden will now go all the way across the back of the hilltop- about 30 ft or so.... but that will happen next year.

The forsythia was blocking THIS view.

My adopted cat doesn't stay to far away from me. Even when we fired up the chainsaw.

oh, and she used the litter box indoors last night! I bet by next week she'll be sleeping inside!

Here is some of my new items that I got last week....

table at a yard sale. Cheap. Really, really cheap. I have no idea what to do with it though. I think it's going to end up being re sold. I can't figure out how to use it in my house...

a pair of Thonet wood chairs (they are hanging in my garage ceiling right now- sorry) I need to sand and stain them. I might end up using these....

vintage door and industrial light. The light is going out for sale and the next show...I think I'm going to use the very very heavy door in our house- after it's painted.....

vintage windows. They are going to the show too....the Mr. too...although he's not for sale.

Good to hear from you. You sound super busy as always. I hope this means the mister is feeling better. And it's a wonderful view. Good riddence to that forsythia bush!

Hi Alana and Kerry! Good to hear from both of you!

Yes, the Mr. is better. It's been 6 weeks now, and although he's not back to "normal" it's close!
