I had a flea market

Our little village had our first ever " Rivertown Festival" this weekend. We used to have a festival called "heritage Days" but those stopped a few years back. The village was literally falling apart. Our general store was arsoned and burned down. The gas station and restaurant closed. We had NO businesses..... and not much heritage left. Even our park was abandoned.

4 years later, and we have a new general store in the refurbished Roller mill

we have a new restaurant and an open gas station. We have refurbished the park and it's beautiful and the river is back to life. People are moving INTO the village. We are back, so we had the first ever celebration.

We had a village breakfast table and pancake eating contest. We had a huge parade, a very large softball tournament that brought in teams from all over the area. One of the churches had a very popular chicken BBQ and had kids games that brought in kids from all over the area. I had a flea market that was attended by more people than I ever expected to come- especially since it rained for three days prior (although the weather for the festival was PERFECT). We also had a huge beer tent and we brought in a well known band for the last night.

Hopefully, I'll be able to put up some more festival pics soon.

My Mr. had major surgery this past week so it's been busy to say the least. He's still in a lot of pain but hopefully he'll come out of all this fixed and better than ever!
