He went EVERYWHERE with me. Here he is at Eeyore's birthday in Austin Texas. Yes, he's wearing beads.... he LOVED going to festivals and parties.
When I moved he accepted the changes well, and those changes included Jason and then Max.
Chuy slept right next to Max when I was pregnant with him.....when he would get kicked he would sniff and lick at my baby bump. When we brought Max home from the hospital, Chuy sniffed me, than the baby, than me again and then he turned around and walked away. He knew.
When one of us was sick, Chuy would sleep right next to that person, never leaving their side except for bathroom breaks and food. He slept by my side during my time with H1N1, and he slept by my husband after his surgery. He stayed with Max whenever he got a cold on a pillow on the floor of his room. He thought it was his job to watch over us, no matter what the circumstances.
But, this is what he's been doing for the past year now. Curled up 20 hours a day, near a heat duct, sleeping.
He was loved and cared for right up until the end. I miss him so much. He was with me for over 1/2 of my adult life.
He had a good run. He was a good dog. He was a good friend.
I will miss him.
