piles of piles......part one.

This is tops weekend. I don't think I have a lot of tops, but after looking at these piles, I think I might be wrong.

Wardrobe therapy usually comes at the wrong time for me to clean my closet and get my spring/summer stuff out. Usually there is a few feet of snow out there, ice and it's very, very cold. This year-thank you global warming-no snow and it's been 50 to 60 degrees every day this week. I know winter might make a last ditch effort here- but winter is over. I'm using WT to help get my closet under control.

Piles of jackets. Let's start with that. As we have discussed- I am a jacket person. My body needs that structure and it makes me feel more pulled together even though I'm probably wearing flip flops, levis and a t shirt. Here they are....

Yes, there are 11. Plus, there is a suit that isn't here.
All are worn by me, all are in really nice condition and fit me. The top pic is my more dressy jackets, 2 black worthington jackets, the black and white Ralph Lauren, the black flowered Jones (which I wasn't sure of, but looks nice) the striped Dialogue which is both dressy and casual, the floral Coldwater creek which is more like a shirt it's so thin, the fabulous denim jacket that makes me look 10 lbs thinner, two khakis- a pea coat style and a safari style, a great black twill jacket from Coldwater creek and a short sleeved Singrid Olsen denim one. That last one was a suprise too. I don't wear it much, but it's cute on when I do.

Long sleeve shirts. I got rid of a multi colored sheer tunic last week. This week I ditched a Chicos linen button up longer shirt and two others- a white button down and a denim ralph button down. The chicos shirt pulled across my ass (never a good look) the button downs are just not my taste anymore.

This is a WTF moment. Why did I get this sheer 70's shirt? The chicos one is a mystery too, did I not turn around and look at it from behind?

Shirts for the spring/summer- these are tough for me. I have a lot of button up ones, but I really need more t shirts etc... I have (again) 11 that I am keeping and getting rid of a total of 4.

2 button down white shirts, one has some embroidery on it, one is a shirt that makes me look like a waitress, BUT, I do think I need one so it stays, plus, it buttons over my boobs and doesn't gape.  2 denim shirts, one is a really nice button down, one is a western style that goes over tanks or what not. 1 light blue shirt that is fantastic, one black tunic with embroidery, 4 black shirts. One is a cotton 3/4 sleeve shirt, one is a dressier sheer 3/4 sleeve shirt, one is superstar short sleeve linen shirt that is fantastic in the summer. The last black one is a long sleeve mens button down with some great embroidery on the shoulders.

Then there is the mysterious white linen shirt jacket with black bamboo all over it. I bought this for a wedding last year. It's not my taste at all, but I feel I should keep it in case there is another horrid wedding I just have to attend at the last minute.  Am I wrong?

This ends part one. I am tired and I'm sure you're bored. Tomorrow is knits- short sleeve, long sleeve and sweaters. Yes, sweaters. I live in Michigan after all .

Say goodbye shirts....

Re: you don't think you have a lot of tops. After I've posted all my piles (which will be in one post) and you've seen ALL my piles, come back and read your part one. *grin*

I am sadly lacking in the jacket department. *eyes your jackets enviously*

I can't wait to see your piles- you have come so far from when we first started this that it's downright amazing!!!!!

My spring piles, alas, are not as impressive as you might hope. My greatest strides came last winter, and I thoroughly enjoyed getting dressed in my winter wardrobe. Spring needs work. But then, that's the point of WT, isn't it!

Re the jacket w/ bamboo worn only for awful weddings -- That's a classic Same Time, Next Year item. If it's acceptable and you have no interest in replacing it with something better, then it stays. If you ever stumble across something better while doing other shopping, the new item replaces Bamboo Jacket in the line-up.

WT never rules out tactical apathy.

thanks Wende. You are right. Tomorrows post will have knits and there are rabbity things there.

I am usually very good about fixing things etc... so you won't find me having much to repair on WT, and I have no issues with throwing away clothing that is past it's prime (blacks that are grey, stained, pilled etc...) usually, WT for me is to get rid of the ugly....

I know what you mean about thinking you don't have many tops, until the piles come. I think I have at least a hundred tops. I probably wear ten-fifteen of them.

100 tops, MAW? I can't even imagine 100 tops. I went back and counted the ones I've listed on my "piles" post and there are nine. Six of those are rejects.

When I went back to count, I realized I hadn't included the collage of the Mysteries of the Lost Shopping Trip, so I have revised my post. The blithering on about the Mysteries is now accompanied by the appropriate illustration.
