Rain, rain part 2- or honey- grab the keys to the ark!

As Mella put it- we're getting biblical rains. It is STILL raining here. The snow is gone. The river is rising. The first picture is from this morning, the second picture is from just a few days ago. The deer is still alive, hobbling about- but feeding and moving. The snow being gone for her is a good thing. She can hide far more easily in the grass than the white snow.

Last night we had a spectacular thunder and lightning show and a tornado warning. A freaking tornado warning in January.

When I lived here when I was little (in the -gulp- 70's) I remember snow up the the roof line of the garage, and people having to take snow mobiles to the grocery store because the roads in town were impassible. I even have pictures to prove this somewhere- the one I love is my dad snow blowing the backyard in full cold weather gear- he even was wearing his bank robber ski mask-the snow was over his head and he's 6'2. We don't get that kind of historic snow anymore.

Normal weather patterns or global climate change ? I don't know. But I do know THIS type of weather is not normal for here for sure.

Indeed!

I was just remarking to the husband that I don't remember San Francisco getting the horrendous storms of last weekend when I was a tot. And his home town seems to be getting much less lake-effect snow than he remembers.

Stay safe!
