OMG! I have 54 + purses. No, really, that is true

Brilliant me- I decided since I had cleaned out my upstairs closet I should switch my summer purses out with my winter purses. It has to be done, and no time better than the present right? Well, I have yet to divulge that I am a purse hoarder and a purse snob. Since I was a teenager, my love of purses has only been matched by my love of chairs. I have 54 purses. Plus about 10 vintage purses that I don't use so don't count, a briefcase from my former life, and 2 camera bags. I am not prepared to discuss this any further, but here are some pictures so you can see exactly what kind of problem I have. These are all but 6 of the purses.
They will all fit back into my tiny little 3 ft closet. Really. I have a great system of linen boxes and a wire basket.

I thank God every day I hoard purses and chairs instead of used q tips and tin foil. And that I am not a true hoarder. If a chair broke, or a purse got nasty I would dispose of it. I prefer to think that I like a lot of choices around me when I comes to where I sit and what I carry.
Yea, right......

Damn! I was hoping for a Meet the Purses session like the Meet the Chairs posts.

Purses are one of those areas where I'm weirdly ignorant and rotate the same neutral ones until I suddenly realize they've become far too real.

So if you had the urge to talk about purses...

Oh I can join in the purse love- I was just wondering what week they would be as I looked at my existing collection.

drwende- purses are a sickness, and they are in control. you see a lovely one, it calls to you until you bring it home, then it hangs in your closet until the day it decides to make an appearance and forces you to choose the right outfit for its outing. everyday a new purse...

oh, and that rust-colored barrel purse in the center front of the bottom picture? FABULOUS! I have purse envy...

cq- that barrel purse is my personal favorite. I have only carried it one time though, because I am scared to scratch it. Purses just call to me. Some women love shoes- not me. Some love jewelry, again, not so much. But a great bag, that I love. Plus, they give my very non colorful outfits a big pop of color.

I may do a meet the purse section, Wende, it actually sounds fun.
