This is the before picture. I couldn't see the river from my deck (or from two of three windows in the living room) one night the gin and tonic gave me the courage to go out and saw and lop until I could see the river. Then, I decided not to stop. The bottom pic is what it looks like now. There are a few lilac stragglers, but the hill is slowly being covered with periwinkle (that started blooming today) and I have put some daylillies on the hill too..... I'll take a picture later this season when it greens up.
