Bathroom mini renovation- just one step at a time....

Listen,  I'm not going to discuss with anyone the horror of removing a toilet from the bathroom. Imagine what you will- it's just like that.  Since we are only doing a small mini reno, the toilet is being reused. Also, there's nothing wrong with it and we are doing this reno on the CHEAP. Under 150.00 (we hope) in the end. That's floor, cabinet, trim, assorted stuff AND a door.

We needed to remove the toilet for three reasons- 1. new floor is being installed.  2. we wanted to make sure the sub floor was in good condition under toilet (it was) 3. new wax ring and all water pipes etc... for the toilet. SO- the removed toilet sat in my hallway for a few days.  Yes, that's gross....

We uncovered some unfortunate remnants of the past. This was the past owners home decor. A gross rag/sponge/paint treatment. She LOVED that hiddeous 80's country decor.  This was all over the bathroom walls when we bought the house. When we looked at it the first time- I thought it was mold.

This is behind the original cabinet. The yellow tile is the original 70's stuff. The blue stuff was probably installed in the 80's. It's all gone now....

Next installement- this weekend!
