my son talked to God.

at least, that what he tells me. Here is the semi cliff notes version.
First, we are not religious. I went to Lutheran church school, and I believe in God, just not religion or churches much. SO, I have spoken to Max about God before, but it's not an overwhelming topic in our house. He doesn't go to a religious daycare. Our parents are not religious either.

He and I were talking one night about rules. Specifically how when I am not around, another adult is in charge. (it's been an issue, not a big one, but still....) So he looks at me and tells me that God told him that adults think they are in charge, but really God is in charge. I asked where he heard this. He told me when he was a baby in daycare. I told him he didn't GO to daycare as a baby- just this year. He looked at me like I was an idiot and told me-" not this daycare- GODS DAYCARE. " When he was a baby "before God gave me to you" . Those exact words came out of his mouth.

I have always wondered (in my head, not out loud) if babies remember things from before they were born. I still don't have the answer for that of course. But this gave me something to ponder.

I've been trying to think of a response to this ever since you wrote it, because it's so cool. What's the quotation "Out of the mouths of babes come words of wisdom".

That boy is a very thoughtful kid -- he's going to go far...

(did you see my post about Amy Krouse Rosenthal -- her kid's books look really good. Maybe too young for your philosopher?)
