Even though I was going through all that- I still managed to get something done today!
The Mr. brought these home for me last night-
What are they? Two matching bookcases that originally came from the University of Michigan. Made in Holland Michigan. Rough, as you can tell. But they were cheap- 15 bucks each. We can ALWAYS use bookshelves. They are rough, but sturdy little buggers. Plus, the Mr. knows that I have skills.
Today they look like this....
How? Well, I washed them. That helped a lot. And then I used Howard Restor-A- Finish in neutral. Works like a champ. I tested a sample spot last night before going to bed....and when I saw the results this morning I finished them before my appointment.
I can't wait for the Mr. to see them tonight!
Have a fantastic weekend everyone!

Those came out so well, I need to go get some Restor-A-Finish ASAP, clearly! Hope you are back to your normal healthy self soon!
I love love love Restor-a-Finish! Follow that up with a nice coat of Feed-n-Wax and the shine will knock your socks off!
They look beautiful!
Wow. Are you sure those are the same cabinets?
Hope you're feeling better soon.
thanks everyone! I am feeling better today...there's some nasty stuff going around our town and it's dropping people left and right.
Those cabinets awesome huh? I couldn't believe how well they cleaned up...and that restor a finish is fantastic stuff.... I got it at home depot btw....
Most lovely. I so need to do that to my credenza/dresser (credresser?)
Willing myself not to get sick. I went to lunch with a friend yesterday and I'm pretty sure her toddler sneezed on my salad.
Mella, the finish is SUPER easy and I did it inside without any problems.
Toddlers have a suprisingly long range with skeeze sneezing.... I hope you don't get sick!
