The (NON) accent wall

I used to have an orange accent wall in the dining room....
since I have orange Herman Miller chairs and a large orange piece of art on the opposite wall it seemed to make sense.  It also though, made my room very dark.... and the room is a north facing room so it's rather dark to start with. After 4 years I finally decided to do something about it.....

The Mr. likes the color so much, he wants me to paint the entire dining room this color. He mentioned putting up crown moulding and shelves on the far wall. If he does that- I believe that the entire room will go from white to this tan color. It does look really nice with white...and since I painted all the trim and doors white last fall it would make sense...I just am not thrilled with having to paint such a huge room again.... oh well. It only takes a few hours! Maybe after vacation!

Oooh, I like it very much, too! (And I'm a huge fan of orange, but... I really like this!) I can see the gorgeous desk, chair and lamp so much more clearly against the tan wall.

Now the Georgia O'Keefe skull needs a darker background, though, maybe a piece of fabric, or grass matting? I am in love with that desk!

The deal at our house is that hubs does the taping, and I do the rest. HATE me some taping, I do!

The skull on the wall looks better in person than in that photo...but it is something I'm considering (putting it on a mat or something)

I hate taping more than life itself. And my Mr. doesn't want anything to do with painting at all- mainly because he sucks at it. He's awful- he says he used up all his painting ability when we painted the exterior.

it looks a lot like the "Desert Beige" that my whole house is painted at this point. The white trim does pop nicely against is, as does art.
